Clavulin Suspension 400/57mg 70ml contains Amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.
It belongs in a group of medicines called ” Penicillin”.Clavulin treats sinus infection, upper respiratory tract infection(URTI), and Skin infection.
Also, it treats urinary tract infection(UTI),Dental infections and other bacterial infections.
- Each 5 ml of reconstituted suspension contains 400 mg of Amoxicillin as the
- Trihydrate and 57 mg of Clavulanic acid as the Potassium salt (in a ratio of 7:1).
- Amoxicillin exerts a bactericidal action against sensitive organisms. Clavulanic acid inhibits specific β-lactamases of some microorganisms and allows
- Amoxicillin to inhibit Amoxicillin (Ampicillin) resistant organisms which produce clavulanic acid sensitive β-lactamases.
It treats of Sinusitis, Otitis Media when caused by β-lactamase producing strains of H. influenzae or Moraxella (Branhamella) catarrhalis, Lower Respiratory Tract Infections when caused by β-lactamase producing strains of H. influenzae, K. pneumoniae, S. aureus or Moraxella (Branhamella) catarrhalis, Skin and Soft Tissue Infections when caused by β-lactamase producing strains of S. aureus.
