Description

Zovirax Suspension offers targeted and efficient management of herpes simplex virus infections, including initial and recurrent genital herpes, along with suppression of recurrent outbreaks in immunocompetent patients. This banana-flavored oral suspension is also indicated for the prophylaxis of herpes simplex infections in immunocompromised patients and the treatment of varicella (chickenpox) and herpes zoster (shingles) infections. Its formulation, containing 200mg of aciclovir per 5ml, is tailored for ease of dosing and patient compliance.

How to Use: Adults are recommended to take 200mg of Zovirax five times daily for herpes simplex infections, with adjustments available for those with severe immunocompromisation or impaired gut absorption. Early initiation of treatment enhances efficacy, especially when started at the first sign of infection.

Precautions: Patients with kidney disease, allergies to aciclovir, valaciclovir, or any excipients, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women, should consult their healthcare provider before using Zovirax Suspension. It’s important to maintain adequate hydration to minimize side effects.
