It has analgesic and anticonvulsant activity. Pregabalin reduces neuronal calcium currents by binding to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the CNS tissues. This particular mechanism may be responsible for neuropathic pain anxiety and other syndromes.
