Pulmicort 0.5mg Solution controls and prevents symptoms caused by asthma. Also, it works on the lungs to make breathing easier by reducing the irritation and swelling of the airways.
For it to be effective, use this medication regularly. It does not work right away and do not use it to relieve sudden asthma attacks. If an asthma attack occurs, use your quick-relief inhaler as prescribed.
When treatment is started, during periods of severe asthma and while reducing or discontinuing oral glucocorticosteroids, the recommended dose of Pulmicort Respules is:
- Adults (including the elderly): Usually 1 – 2 mg twice daily. In very severe cases the dosage may be further increased.
- Paediatric population
Children 12 years and older: Dosage as for adults.
Children 3 months to 12 years: 0.5 – 1 mg twice daily.
