Maxalt Melt wafer tablets melt in your mouth and do not require water or food to work effectively. The rizatriptan in Maxalt Melt is a selective serotonin 5-HT receptor agonist. During a migraine attack, rizatriptan reduces pain, feelings of nausea and gets rid of sensitivity to light or sound.
