How long esomeprazole can be used?
Esomeprazole is usually given for 4 to 8 weeks only. Your doctor may recommend a second course of treatment if you need additional healing time. Use esomeprazole for the full prescribed length of time, even if your symptoms quickly improve.

    The recommended dose is Nexium 40 mg twice a day. Your doctor will adjust the dose depending on your needs and will also decide how long you need to take the medicine for. The maximum dose is 80 mg twice a day.
