Dulcolax Suppositories 10mg 12’s contains bisacodyl. As a result, they are for the treatment of constipation. Bisacodyl stimulates the nerve endings in the walls of the large bowel (colon) and rectum. This medicine does not help with weight loss.
- In addition, Dulcolax melts in the rectum, releasing the bisacodyl to produce its effect on the colon and rectum wall. The suppositories start to work in about 15 to 30 minutes, so they are helpful if you want fast relief from constipation.

As with all laxatives, Dulcolax Twelve Plus Suppositories should not be used every day for more than 5 days. If you need laxatives every day, or if you have abdominal pain which does not go away, you should see your doctor.
