Product Description

Cefixime tablets belong to a class of medications called  cephalosporin antibiotics. They treat certain infections caused by bacteria such as bronchitis and gonorrhea. The tabs also treat infections of the ears, throat, tonsils, and urinary tract.

Is cefixime a strong antibiotic?

Cefixime is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, which means that it is active against a wide variety of bacteria. It treats short-term (acute) bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, chest and throat infections, and ear infections.
Is the drug safe for kidneys?
As with other cephalosporins, this drug may cause acute renal failure including tubulointerstitial nephritis as an underlying pathological condition. When acute renal failure occurs, cefixime should be discontinued and appropriate therapy and/or measures should be taken.
What are the side effects of the tabs?
SIDE EFFECTS: Stomach upset/pain, diarrhea, nausea, gas, headache, or dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Common side effects may include:
  • indigestion, stomach pain;
  • nausea, vomiting; or.
  • vaginal itching or discharge.
